Weekly Haematology Deep Dives
13th Annual Haematology Oncology Symposium
What started as small meetings amongst the Haematology fellows at UCT, have now evolved into high quality virtual Haematology discussions, attracting participation by many colleagues across South Africa.
The 13th Annual Haematology Oncology Symposium will take place virtually and in-person at Spier Wine Farm in Cape Town on 16 to 17 October 2021.

Hannes is a Clinical Haematologist and stem cell transplant physician at Haemalife, a private Haematology unit in Kuils River, Cape Town. He believes in the strength of unity and collaboration.

Estelle is an Associate Professor in Clinical Haematology at the University of Cape Town. She promotes inter-centre and interdisciplinary research with direct clinical implications to promote best practice pathways.

Michael is a clinical haematologist and stem cell transplant physician at Alberts Cellular Therapy in Pretoria. His passion is facilitating access to innovative therapies for patients.

Sharlene is Head of Clinical Haematology at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital in KZN. She is passionate about making haematology services available to all South Africans.

Inland Representative
Karen is a clinical haematologist and stem cell transplant physician who heads up “The Haemteam” Haematology unit in Johannesburg. Her aim is to build up excellence in haematology – with access for all patients to optimal therapy and compassionate holistic care.
